John Higgins named Purdue Global’s chief transformation officer

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — John Higgins has been appointed chief transformation officer for Purdue Global. He started in the new position June 1.
As chief transformation officer, Higgins oversees project planning, change readiness, and performance and execution of initiatives involving Purdue Global departmental leaders and strategic partners.

Higgins steps into the role with more than 30 years of experience in finance, operations and enterprise transformation in higher education. He joined Purdue University in 2005 and has held various financial roles across the university, most recently serving as the assistant vice president of finance, supporting research. Higgins has led strategic initiatives across finance, human resources, capital and administrative operations, research administration, and enterprise technology modernization.
Higgins has been recognized for collaborative leadership, organizational development and measurable institutional improvement. He has served in leadership roles with the National Association of College and University Business Officers and the Association of American Universities Bursars, and as president of the Indiana Association of College and University Business Officers. At the national level, Higgins represented higher education business officers in 2010 in negotiated rulemaking for the Higher Education Opportunity Act and served as a subject matter expert during congressional higher education advisory board proceedings.
Higgins earned his MBA with honors from Purdue University’s Mitch Daniels School of Business and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
